Terms of Use
Last updated:
Draft. This text is a draft and is waiting for J4E’s legal review. It may change before it is final.
These terms are the simple rules for using J4E India, in the app and on this website. By creating an account you agree to them. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can join
J4E is for people who run or work in a real business and are at least 18. Give true information about yourself and your business, and keep it up to date. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your email account safe.
2. Acceptable use
Be the kind of member others are glad to pick up the phone for. You agree not to:
- give false or misleading information, or pretend to be someone else;
- harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or post anything unlawful, hateful or obscene;
- copy the directory, scrape it, or collect members’ contact details in bulk;
- try to break, overload or get around the security of the service.
3. No spam or cold selling
Members’ phone numbers and emails are shared so you can have a real conversation about business. Do not use them for mass messages, unsolicited advertising, lead lists, or to pass on to others. Contact people about what they actually offer or need.
4. Your content
What you put in your profile (text, photos, offers) stays yours. You give J4E permission to show it in the directory, on your public member page, and in the app and website, so that other people can find you. You promise you have the right to share it.
We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
5. Events
Answering “Coming” tells organisers to expect you. Entry passes are personal. Event details such as time and place can change; we will tell you if they do. Online event links are for members who are coming and must not be shared.
6. Suspension and ending your account
You can delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, harms other members or the community, or is used to cheat the service. Where we can, we will tell you why.
7. Our responsibility
J4E introduces entrepreneurs to each other. We do not check or guarantee any member’s business, advice, prices or work, and any dealings between members are between them. Please use your own judgement.
We work to keep the service available and correct but provide it “as is”. To the extent the law allows, J4E is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from dealings between members.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be handled by the competent courts in India.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do; for important changes we will tell members in the app. Questions? See the About page or use the Help screen in the app.
